Hi Haley! I'm Fida from Indonesia 🇮🇩
Glad to know you invited your subscribers to participate in your video.
Alright, let me begin my story.
So, I've been dealing with acnes, even cystic acnes, since I was like 13. It ruins my self-esteem. At that time, I felt like I really needed something to cover them up, and then I started to apply a thick and heavy-texture BB cream (literally) anytime and to anywhere I went.
As I grew up, I learned more about makeup and I decided to switch to foundation when I was 20 because I thought the texture is lighter than BB cream. Since that day, I applied foundation everyday.
Until one day, I noticed my easy-to-become-red face was getting even more red everytime I removed my makeup. My mom also noticed that my pores were getting larger and she told me to stop applying foundation but I ignored her lol.
At that time, I had to have regular doctor visits because my acne problem seemed like didn't have an end. What the doctor said everytime I came was always the same: "Go foundation-free". But, yeah, I always ignored her because who would go out without foundation and let people see all these flaws?!
But day by day, I was sick of all these skin problems. I made a big decision (for me): Going foundation-free. And I didn't regret it.
I never thought that this small action can give a big change. I notice that my skin redness reduces, my pores are tighter, and my skin doesn't look dull anymore! I also see an improvement on my acne scars, and I also love the feeling of still seeing the same person even after removing makeup. I mean, you know, sometimes you just put too much makeup on until you can't even recognize yourself lol.
The most important thing that I got from going foundation-free is my acnes don't pop up easily and now, with healthier diet and proper skincare routine of course, the healing process of my acnes is getting easier.
Sadly, I didn't have before and after photos because I rarely take a makeup-free selfie but I hope my story can help you.
Thanks, Hailey! Keep inspiring people and have a great day!
